Use AOL IMAP Settings to Get Messages on Another Account

Configure AOL IMAP Settings for Another Email Program

To configure AOL email IMAP settings from another email program, you must enter the correct settings information. Use the ones given below.

IMAP Settings

  • The IMAP server name of AOL is imap.aol.com.

  • The IMAP port number is 993.

  • SSL or TLS should be your IMAP security type.

  • Put your email address as an IMAP username.

  • Enter your AOL password in the appropriate field.

AOL SMTP Settings

  • The SMTP server address is smtp.aol.com.

  • 465 is the SMTP port number.

  • SSL or TLS should be your SMTP security type.

  • Your full email address should come as an SMTP username.

  • Input aol.com password in the password field.



Setup AOL Email to Connect with Outlook

You can add an AOL email account in your Outlook to keep all your emails in one place. For this, you need to know the correct AOL IMAP settings for Outlook

 

  • Tap on the ‘File’ tab on Outlook and choose ‘Add account.’

  • Place a check on the Manual Setup or Additional Server Types box.

  • Now, from the two options, choose ‘IMAP.’

  • After that, tap ‘Next.’

  • Input your entire name along with your AOL email ID. 

  • Choose the account type below Server Information. 

  • IMAP is usually recommended because it keeps your email on a server and not your PC. So, you can access emails from any PC.

  • In the ‘Incoming Mail Server box, input imap.aol.com.

  • In the ‘Outgoing Mail Server’ box, input smtp.aol.com.

  • Input your AOL email credentials in the ‘Logon Information’ section.

  • Now, hit ‘Next.’

  • After that, below the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab, tap ‘More Settings.’

  • Tick the box saying ‘My server requires additional authentication.’

  • Now, tap ‘Advanced.’

  • In the ‘Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Port,’ input 587.

  • Put 143 in the ‘Incoming Mail Port.’

  • Alternatively, choose ‘SSL.’

  • Select the ‘Test account settings’ box, and tap ‘Next.’
